Change Controls Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Change Controls Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end change control process across multiple projects. This includes receiving and evaluating change requests, coordinating governance reviews, maintaining thorough documentation, and ensuring compliance with project standards. The role requires strong collaboration with project teams to assess impacts, communicate changes, and integrate approved modifications into project plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Project Change Requests:
    Receive, evaluate, and process all change requests related to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Ensure requests are complete, justified, and aligned with project goals.
  • Facilitate Change Control Processes:
    Coordinate the change control board (CCB) or relevant governance forums. Schedule reviews, document decisions, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Maintain Change Log and Documentation:
    Record and track all change requests through their lifecycle. Ensure proper documentation of approvals, rejections, and implementation steps.
  • Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment:
    Work with project teams to assess the potential impact of proposed changes on cost, schedule, resources, and risk. Summarize findings for decision-makers.
  • Ensure Compliance with Governance Standards:
    Enforce adherence to organizational and project-specific change control procedures. Escalate deviations or unauthorized changes.
  • Integrate Approved Changes into Project Plans:
    Update project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and other baseline documents to reflect approved changes. Ensure downstream systems and reports are aligned.
  • Communicate Changes to Stakeholders:
    Provide timely and transparent communication to all affected parties. Ensure clarity around changes, rationales, and implications.
  • Support Continuous Improvement:
    Analyze change trends and process effectiveness. Recommend improvements to the change control framework to reduce unnecessary disruptions and increase agility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in project controls, project management, or a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Experience using project management software Primavera P6 for scheduling, planning, and managing large, complex projects is a must.
  • Strong proficiency in cost management tools such as Excel, SAP, or similar is required.
